Movement Intensive
Five days of practice and study in Barcelona, outdoors and in our studio. Six hours of work daily, split across morning and afternoon sessions. A packed schedule, by design.
Most people who train seriously reach a point where adding more metrics stops making any sense. Something is missing at a more fundamental level: the underlying principles of how the body organises itself, how it learns, and how different qualities actually connect rather than sitting in separate boxes. This intensive covers the concepts that sit underneath all human movement. As a living practice applied to your body every day of the week and not a theory to ponder on.
This week is built around those principles. Every day, the ideas and the physical work will run alongside each other. They will inform each other constantly. By the end of the week you'll feel why it matters.
We will work across five territories: movement intelligence, connectivity, somatic practice, athletic development, and the expressive layer. Each has its own logic and each bleeds into the others.
the topics of work
Movement intelligence
What it actually is, how it develops, how to apply it. The capacity to read a situation, solve a physical problem, adapt quickly. Concrete and measurable way of real time problem solving skills.
Connectivity and organisation
How you organise your body determines how you move. We will work on the real connections between parts: functional chains, force distribution, tension management. The principles that make movement efficient, powerful and sustainable over time.
Somatic practice
Most people move without being fully present to the body they're moving. This thread develops the capacity to sense from the inside, to listen to what's actually happening while you're in motion, outside of assumptions.
The expressive layer
What emerges when the body stops performing and starts communicating. This territory doesn't come first, it becomes available after the other work is in place.
Athletic development
The attributes like power, speed, and coodrination are there to support the body in movement. We will work on the principles that help you develop those in a manner that is sustainable and meets your level.
Daily structure
10:00 – 13:00 | Morning practice session
13:00 – 15:00 | Lunch and rest
15:00 – 18:00 | Afternoon practice + lecture
Times may shift slightly based on the group and the flow of the work.
Your teacher
Anna Bezuglova has been studying directly with Ido Portal for 12 years, one of the longest sustained relationships within that lineage. She brings that depth into her teaching without diluting it. Anna is precise, demanding, and genuinely interested in what happens when people take the work seriously.
Who this is for
No specific movement background required. What matters is that you're genuinely curious and willing to question how you move, not just repeat what you already know.
You already sense that movement goes deeper than fitness or exercise
You want to understand the principles behind the practice, not just accumulate techniques
You're looking for tools that transfer to your life
You value being in a group that takes the work seriously
You're ready to be challenged, and curious about what that reveals
If you're not there yet, that's fine. Come when you are.
